Levant dollar, 
  1. Currencya silver coin, either a Maria Theresa thaler or an imitation of one, formerly used for trade with Abyssinia, Eritrea, Aden, etc. Imitations bear the date 1780 regardless of the year of minting. Also called Levant thaler.
